after trying many of the dark ones this is my favorite. Not too strong and a wonderful rich taste.

This is a very nice everyday cup. It's a dark roast, but there is no trace of smokiness or char. It's very mellow with a sweet aroma and no surprises. Mouthfeel is a little thin, but overall the flavor is very good.

I found this disappointing. I had high expectations after falling in love with Reunion Island's Sumatra, but found the Privateer tasted like it had sat on a burner for an extended period of time and cooked. Normally I'm a fan of a very dark, Italian or French roast, but to me at least, this one doesn't pull it off.

This is a coffee that I do not want to be without. Exceptionally smooth, and has a chocolate aroma and a faint hint of orange on tasting

Like Steve from Carlisle, I was disappointed and felt this coffee tasted charred. It also has a pretty thin feel in the mouth and tastes a little on the acidy side. I did not get smooth or rich at all.

Good deep roast flavor with a bit of bite that gives it depth and character. Full flavored way to start the day.

This was my second favorite of the dark Roast sampler I received.
It brewed a good strong cup of coffee but did not have a bitter burnt flavor

Discovered this wonderful pod in the dark sampler. It has become my favorite. Very rich, dark roast quality with no charred or burned taste. Very yummy (to quote my granddaughter referring to chocolate milk, of course).

I really like a dark roast, and this fits the bill. Not quite a meal in a cup, but once you start drinking it it's difficult to not make cup after cup.

Upon opening the package my nose immediately noticed an intense pleasing coffee aroma waking up my drowsy early moring brain. Privateer is a good cup of coffee, a little bitter with a bite, flavorfull but intense and bold. 3 stars for this good cup of java.
